Role Overview
As part of the finance team, this role supports the financial operations of the business, contributing to effective financial planning and execution through hands-on management of accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, and by providing reliable financial information to support the company’s goals and objectives.
Main Responsabilities
Core Accounting Operations

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
-
Assist with entering biweekly payroll information, validating hours and managing exceptions
-
Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
-
Resolve discrepancies and respond to internal and external inquiries related to payments and billing
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to align financial information with business needs
-
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency
-
Support the implementation of new tools or systems when required
General Ledger & Reconciliations
-
Maintain accurate general ledger entries
-
Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and other systems
-
Investigate and correct variances as needed
Month-end &Financial Close
-
Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, schedules, and supporting documentation

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reports
-
Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and well organized
Compliance, Taxes & Audit Support

Prepare audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits
-
Liaise with internal departments to gather explanations and financial data required for audit purposes
-
Maintain organized audit files and ensure proper documentation retention

Contribute to filing GST/QST returns and liaise with government agencies, as required
-
Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable accounting standards and regulations
Reporting & Financial Insights

Maintain and enhance financial and performance metric dashboards
-
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making
Qualifications
-
7 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations
-
Strong attention to detail and a high personal standard for accuracy
-
Comfortable working in accounting tools (QuickBooks)
-
Excellent Excel skills
-
Organizational skills and able to manage multiple ongoing tasks

Knowledge of cost accounting and financial cycle in a service context

Bilingualism: written and spoken French and English
* Proficiency in English is required, as you will occasionally need to communicate with our Toronto office as well as with certain English-speaking vendors. * -
